Acqua Pesante

Acqua Pesante Shaping the Time (Phonogram Unit)

“The trio “Acqua pesante” was casually formed in between gigs at the Free Flow Fest, January 2024, around the province of Bari, Apulia (Italy).
After a good morning coffee the only certainty is the recording technique I suggested: the B.I.C. (Blind Instant Composition). The musicians explore different timbral and compositional possibilities in real time in the same way as the mixed techniques used by the painters of *Spatialism and the Nuclear Movement (two pictorial movements that were established in the 1950s in Milan), where the randomness of the shapes generated by the chemical reaction between colors and solvents gave rise to new forms and chromatic textures. The “Acqua pesante” project calls for the need for a new art, which “goes beyond traditional painting, sculpture, poetry and music”, without imposing formal solutions, but encouraging a new creative attitude: art that must update in accordance with the scientific-technological-anthropological evolution of the times. And how can we keep up with the times and spread more live culture if we are tacitly dominated by the hypocrisy of the <<Imago ergo sum>>, if the electrifying and performing cybernetic highways of social media favor the consolatory mainstream of musical and artistic genres that are now historicized and smell of mothballs? The answer could be simple: support small independent productions like this one, participate and organize cultural events outside the canons of the mainstream. Enjoy! Carlo”
